Well hello there and thanks for visiting our site. I’m Rakijah the braid artist, I’ve been braiding for about 25 years now. Residing in the sunny city of Los Angeles, working in the heart of Leimert Park Hair Central. I’m constantly perfecting my craft with its forever changing styled names “Lol” throughout the years more and more braiders have emerged. So I have to keep up with the times, providing excellent quality crafted braids for my clients. As a braid stylist, I’ve encountered the mis calculation on products while braiding, unfortunately I ran out. Its not only an inconvenience, it causes us to spend more time on having to stop then braiding. I’ve learned that I’m not the only one this has happen to. So I partnered up with another talented braider “Shavon” she has also experience this before. So we decided to tackle this obstacle together and come up with “Nothing Basic” a concierge service and manufacturing of quality hair products as well. I want you to remember the name NothingBasic, because that brand is nothing basic about it!

Hi there, while many 10 year little girls were running around outside playing up, and down the streets I was inside braiding. As long as I could remember braiding has always come naturally for me. At the young age of 10 I knew supplying customer service brought me an abundance of joy. As years passed by and I matured my skillset I saw that there was a real need for reliable, professional braider. So I kept staying relevant in the braid business by knowing the latest trends, even by creating trend, as well as building strong relationships by word of mouth( prior to social media). Word of mouth has always helped me cultivate relationships with many A- list celebrities over the years. Having a clear understanding on how imperative my relationships with my clients was, I strive ti make my braid space more of a therapeutic experience. Beauty has always been a universal language, that can bring all types of woman, and men together. I saw how technology had taken over on how items were being received. I literally was in my restroom doing my hair, and ran out of hair spray, and thought to myself "boy i wish someone could bring me some hair spray", and just like that Nothing Basic Hair Product Concierge delivery service was born. Yes it is cliche to have a story but there is Nothing Basic this journey.
