Nothing Basic was founded by two African American entrepreneurs from Los Angeles,CA. With over 35 years of combined experience in the braiding industry between Rakijah and myself. We both understood the assignment and knew the importance of delivering excellent customer service. As well as providing remarkable braid styles. Over the years braiding has become more marketable thanks to social media, and technology. Living in sunny California we have experienced the highs, and the lows of the beauty industry. However we exhibited such passion for braiding my partner and I have always stayed relevant in the industry.We both started off as little girls learning to braid. Fast forward two decades later we have built our brand. Rakijah asked for us to go into a partnership together to build a empire around braiding. With our knowledge of braid hair and various braid products. We discovered that a lot of the products that are on the market currently, was pretty awful. So we decided to manufacture products that we stand firmly behind. With that being said our vision for our Hair Concierge Delivery service, hair growth serum, our perfect parter comb, brushes, hair puh-made, and our braid hair was born. There's a lot of layers with the Nothing Basic brand. But there is Nothing Basic about us.
